Chicago Race Riot 1919

Still the worst incident of racial violence in city history, this event continues to shape, literally, the city due to pervasive residential segregation. Since historical amnesia about 1919, and other examples of racism and violence, have failed to achieve racial harmony and justice, we seek to raise awareness via geographically specific, dispersed public art.
